Amid rising tension in the Middle East, the EU reaffirmed its determination to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the unconditional release of Israeli hostages. The European Council has focused its efforts on promoting peace and stability in the region while implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2728.

The EU also expressed concern about tensions between Iran and Israel, especially after recent attacks. European Council President Charles Michel reaffirmed the EC’s complete solidarity with Israel, and said the EU will take further restrictive measures against Iran.

The EU reiterated its full unwavering support for Ukraine and its people. EU leaders agreed to step up civil protection and humanitarian assistance, including power generators and power transformers.
